HOLDER RESIDENCE, MAUNA KEA. The Holder residence, was built to reflect the best elements of the Villas at Mauna Kea, which was the first home to incorporate many of the features of the villas while expanding certain areas and achieving the privacy of a free standing home. The overall ambiance is a blend of tropical and oriental influence reflecting their interests and travels. Having designed their Atlanta condominium penthouse, after designing their villa residence, we brought familiarity with their tastes into play as well as the expressed wish to have a different feeling in their Hawaii home from their home in Atlanta. Adams design has subsequently been asked to design the Holder’s Los Angeles address, being the fourth home we have designed for this client over the last decade.
